After Loan To PSV, Dutch midfielder Wants to Want Heart Rafael Benitez
Through his agent, Dutch midfielder Siem De Jong claimed to want to stay at Newcastle United and determined to win the heart of manager Rafael Benitez Judi Online Terpercaya.
De Jong, who can play as an attacking midfielder or striker if needed, joins the Magpies in the 2014 season. But injury problems have limited his playing opportunities at St. James Park, before he was ousted on loan at PSV Eindhoven last season.
The 28-year-old Dutch midfielder has returned to The Toons Army squad, and managed to show an impressive game as far as Newcastle’s pre-season. One of them he made an assist for Dwight Gayle in a friendly match against Scottish club Hearts.
Asked about the future of De Jong, his agent Louis Laros told Voetbal International: “We do not know yet,”
“Preparation so far has already begun and it is still too early, there is a new opportunity. Siem never concealed his determination to succeed at Newcastle, ”
“Newcastle did not buy many new players, so I speculate that there will still be some players who have a future,”
“The club always works. So we have to wait and see if there’s a prospect for Siem. He has never actually worked under Benitez, so he should now try to take that chance. ”
Even so, Laros did not dismiss that his client has several options if the regular place can not be guaranteed. Moreover, he also rejected that Newcastle got an offer from PSV.
“We actually have a scenario and still collect options. The choice is there now, and we regularly inform Siem, ”
“But the transfer is not easy. You have to agree with his salary, transfer fee talks and prospects at other clubs, ”
“That does not make sense (PSV news has already offered Newcastle). I do not know yet. Is the club already working behind me, I do not know. But that’s not true because I have a good communications relationship with Newcastle. ”
De Jong made 19 appearances during his loan term at PSV last season. He scored six goals and created 17 chances.
With the return of Rafa Benitez’s side to the English Premier League, Newcastle will prove themselves that they deserve to survive in the highest caste.
So far, they have just brought in defender Florian Lejeune, and wielded the winger from Chelsea Christian Atsu. (Source: Chroniclelive)
