Giroud Dedicated Puskas Award for the Father
After successfully winning the Puskas Award in the best 2017 goal category, Olivier Giroud presents the trophy he won for his father.
The certainty of the Arsenal striker won him because his scorpion kick was so beautiful and pulled him into a 2-0 winning goal against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League last season.
Even the 31-year-old player also thanked his teammates who had played a big part in creating a beautiful goal through his scorpion kicks in January.
“It’s an honor for me and I’m happy to receive this Cup today,” Olivier Giroud said.
“I want to thank the people who voted for me. I would like to congratulate the three finalists who scored amazing goals as well.
“Of course, I want to thank my teammates. Without them I did not score this goal and my family.
“I also want to present this Cup to my father.”
